me by Olga Lioncat

Photography is with me for over 15 years, and it’s always been people.

Curiosity and interest towards them, and experience of being photographed led me to taking photos. I see photographs taken by photographer as a way to update an image of self, sort of a reality check.

The process is a dialogue, even if a silent one. I try to make my sitter behave, feel and look. as if they are not being photographed, while looking directly into camera. I see how people bring their appearance to get it photographed, holding it boldly at arms length, and during the shoot they put it back on onto themselves, thus bridging the self and the outlook, then we get the best photos.

If I could, I would photograph all the people there.
